Review : Art Deco Perfect Shine Lipstick in Shade 528

Hey Lovelies! How are you'll?

Ever since I started college, We've had a lot of fests going on every other day, and the best part is that the partners they get are absolutely kick-ass! This time, there was a fest called 'Blaze' going on. They had this really cool stall near the entrance that sold cosmetics.

I survive on pocket money, so I think 20 times before every purchase.
It took me a good 15 minutes to decide the lipstick shade I bought. Thank god I had a friend along to help! There were these really cool 'lip colors' that were sketch-pens for the lips. Though that sounded pretty uncomfortable to me, so I stuck with the lipstick!

Art Deco products aren't easily available in India. I was told by the SA at the stall that the German based company is trying to release the products in the Indian market soon.

The product I bought was "Art Deco Perfect Shine Lipstick" in "Shade 528"
The funny part however is that I cannot find it over the net. There is no product detail or anything that sort except this one foreign website that sells it for Rs.1063/- Click here to see the website.

On research, however, I found out that Art Deco has a fabulous line of lip products. You can see their website here : Art Deco Website
Also, via online shopping, you can buy their products on Beauty Bay.

Let's see how the product did for me!

The piece comes in this paper tube.

The packaging looks classy with the metal tube.

Ingredients :

Content :

I'm a big fan of pink, coral and berry when it comes to lip products. I was extremely satisfied with the shade that I bought. It is very rare that light colors suite me, even though I have a fair skin tone. But this one did well for me.

When I researched and found the other ArtDeco lipsticks. I was actually shocked looking at the price. They're for around Rs.1100/-
But you will not believe that I actually bought this one for Rs.175/-

Likes :

  1. Great packaging. It comes in a nice metal case.
  2. Lovely light-bright coral-pink shade.
  3. Excellent creamy finish
  4. Extremely moisturizing.
  5. Fantastic pigmentation.
  6. Nearly opaque in just one go.
  7. Doesn't dry easily
  8. Price I bought it for.
Dislikes :

  1. Availability in India
  2. Lasting power - lasted not more than 2.5 hours on me, though it does leave a faded stain.
  3. Price it is sold for
Overall :
It's a really good product to use. If you're in for the creamy, not-too shiny, opaque finish lipsticks, then you should go for this! But I'm not sure where to get them. The availability is terrible.

I'm surely going to find out where to get this one and will share it with you guys as soon and I get to know!
Meanwhile, you can check out the Beautybay website if you wish to see the other ArtDeco lipsticks!

Hope you like the review and do let me know in the comments if you have tried any ArtDeco products. I'm curious to know more about the brand!

Lots of Love,
Chandni :)

Make-up Tutorial : Egyptian Eyes

Hey Lovelies!

Hoping you're doing amazing!

This post has been an extremely long term thought. I intended to post this right after Halloween, but I was lazy I had exams and I totally forgot!

I literally clicked the pictures 5 days after Halloween and found them right now! So before I forget again, Let's do this :D

PS. I really don't know if you'll like it, It was Halloween and I had to do some make up to match with my Egyptian outfit, So I did this :D I know it might look scary, but it looked great with my outfit! :P

Step one : Apply Kajal on your Waterline.

  I've used Maybelline Colossal.
I haven't really made it too dark, because the latter steps will make up for it :p

Step two : Apply a dark (very dark) eyeliner on your upper lashline. Drag this line away
Leave exactly a tiny finger space between the edge of the line and your eyebrow.

I've used my Kajal because I had limited resources, and I feel kajals give a better look.

Step three : Draw the line on your lower lashline
Joining it to the one in step two.
I know this looks scary, but it looks Egyptian :p and It was Halloween.

Step Four : Apply Light Blue Eyeshadow (refer to the pictures for the shade) on your eyelid, and fill it up till your brow/highlight.

This is a shade from an eyeshadow palette my mom got from Indonesia. It is by Nonna Cosmetics.

Step Five : Apply a little bit of Copperish-Gold Eyeshadow on your lid only.

This is done to soften the extra blue effect, and give it a little shine. Besides, isn't Egypt all about Gold? :p

This is an eyeshadow Palette my mom got for me from the US.
Its Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow. I've used a shade called Pose(Metallic). It's the Copper/Gold below.
Used before here

Step six : Darken your Kajal, and Apply a Mascara.
I've used an Estee Lauder mascara.

Well, That's all! :D
It's extremely easy to do.
In the picture, I've put tons of foundation and powder to get the pale skin look of an Egyptian Princess (Cleopatra<3)
I hope you guys like it! :D
Follow me via GFC, I'd love to follow you back!
Love you all,
Chandni :)

Things I know about love

Hey everyone! How are you’ll?

Well, It is 5:30 am right now, and here I am with teary eyes typing this down!

I’ve stayed up all night because I was supposed to wake up at 4am. So I decided not to sleep, and to spend my time, I read a book.

Things I know about Love by Kate Le Vann.
(picture taken from google)

It’s about a girl, Livia Stowe, who has leukemia, and is trying to figure out this world with the little exposure she has, and how one trip changes her mind set about love.

It’s beautiful how it’s been written in blog posts instead of diary entries and in two perspectives.

She makes a list of “Things I know about love” from her experiences with the guys she dated. However, the initial two just left her because they found out she had leukemia.

She complains about how difficult it is to live a teenage life, when she knows she is going to die.

My heart goes out to those who suffer from this terrible disease. I can only imagine how hard it is to not be able to take risks in fear of being too weak.

It makes me want to live and cherish my gifted life even more. I’m alive today, I’m free to live and love and breathe without any worries of anything.

It’s so hard to think about life, when locked up in a shell, when all you want is to come out and break open that shell just to experience the little life you’re living now.

In the book, Livia makes her list of "Things I know about love", and updates or adds onto it as and when she experiences things. Here’s her list:

1. Nothing that happens between two people is guaranteed to be private
2. Strangers are called strangers because they are strange.
(these are Unshakeable truths)
3.People don’t always tell you the truth how about they feel. And the truth is, it may not be the same as how you feel. And girls can be guilty of this as boys.
4. Hearts don’t really get broken, but if you practice too hard with them, they can get quite hurt. It feels like they won’t get better, but they do.
5. I am in it.
6. Being in love is the best thing in the world.

In the book, She died a few days after making this post.

It touched my heart and made me realize that I have a life not to work all day and spend my time with people who don’t care, but to live and experience and value the ones who actually care.

In the past, I’ve ignored so many people who actually loved me for the ones who left me, and I wish I could go back in time and value those people who gave a damn when I was unwell

Love is not only when your boyfriend takes you on a date, it’s when your mother buys you a new dress, or your brother gets you your favourite product, or even when your dad just tries to do something funny, all, just to see that smile on your face.
Life is short and I want to make sure I tell god “Thank you for making my life so perfect” when I go to heaven. I want to live for happiness and for fulfilling the purpose god sees in me, and not just to please someone day and night.
I want to do things, just because I can, and I want to experience and live, and spread the love everywhere! It’s a beautiful thing, you know?

I’m taking my day off work today and spending it with the people who love me to let them know I love them!

I never really do posts like this, but I feel it was much needed and I hope it touches your life in some way. You’re gifted with so much, and I love you!

Have a great day!

PS. Talking about doing things just because I can, I colored my hair RED on the tips. Bad Decision or not?

Do comment below and let me know!
In this picture I'm wearing an Oriflame Pure Colour in "Desert Rose" on my lips, that my aunt gifted.
It's been my favourite lipstick for about a month or two now, almost finishing it. *sob sob*

Nail art Tutorial : Coral and White Nails

Here is a step by step tutorial on how to get these Coral and White Nails!

First, Apply a single coat of Maybelline Color Show in Coral Craze 211. A single coat is more than enough and no double is needed because the texture is thick. It dries quickly too!

Second, Cover Half your nail with Cellotape/Scotchtape. Try tilting the tape, making a diagonal line if you wish!

Third, Apply White Nail Paint on the part that is not covered by Nail paint.

Next, Gently take off the Cellotape. A neat split of two colors is shown.

Lastly, Take a black nail art pen, or use a toothpick, and dip it in black nail paint. Draw a line to border the split of colors. Apply a coat of transparent nail paint.

Tada! Here you have Coral and White Nails! :D
Easy, ain't it?

Quick view and opinion:
Maybelline Color Show
Price : Rs.75/-
Net Volume : 6ml

The recently launched "Maybelline Color Show" comes in 40 shades. It is extremely budget friendly (which is what I love because I'm bound to my pocket money)
The shade I bought was "Coral Craze 211"
I like the texture of the product. It is very easy to apply. Also, I like that it dries fast!
The line has an amazing range of attracting colors. My personal favourite was "NudeSkin 015" and "Pink Voltage 010"

College Make-up Essentials

Hello Bloggers and Readers!
A very happy new year to you all!

I spent my New Years at my Best Friend's place in North Mumbai :D We stayed home and gossiped and danced! It was fun!
I don't really have a New Year's Resolution, because in my 16 years, I have never been able to live upto them!

How was your New Years Eve? What did you guys do? :D
Do tell me about your New Year's Resolution

I just went back to college after Christmas Break and believe me, the only reason I went was to hog on the Chinese food in my College Canteen. It is delicious! <3

I think it's important to look your best in college atleast, because you're going to be around for the next 5 years, and it sure is important to present yourself in the best manner.
Though, keeping in mind, it's college, and not a party/outing, Your look cannot have excessive make up either! It's got to be simple, sweet and subtle!
For me, I cannot apply too much make-up to college. My look consists of two items, and that only!
It's been 6 months since I've joined college, and cannot step out of my house without these two make-up essentials!
